Comic Book Review

From the Pull List: August 1st 2018

This weeks books, I’ll review them in the comments after I read them:
  • Project: Superpowers Vol. 2 #1
  • Batman #52
  • Hunt For Wolverine: Weapon Lost #4 (of 4)
  • Justice League #5
  • Mister Miracle #10
  • Angels of Hell #1 (KickStarter Book)

Project: Superpowers #1 was pretty good. I read the first volume, and thought it was a great idea to bring back these early creations that helped the foundation of what we have all come to love as the comic book genera. The artwork is pretty solid and the story feels like it has the strength to give this series some longevity.

Batman #52 continues this arc of 12 angry men gotham style. It’s obvious we are dealing get with Bruce questioning his actions as batman due to the fact that he is out of check due to the fact that catwoman left him at the altar.

Hunt: for Wolverine #4 was the best out of the 4 mini series leading up to this event. That being said this last issue felt crammed together to wrap things up and was no where near as good as the other issues before it.

Justice League #5 felt weaker than the other books. Not only that but the art went down hill as well. This makes an attempt to show how Lex brought the Legion of Doom together. It really didn’t feel clever enough at all for someone of Lexs intellect. Let’s hope they can recover from this as the first few issues were decent.

Mister Miracle #10 was great as always. Mind you if this issue stood alone it would not have held up. This issues focus was on the decision to give up their kid in order to stop Darkseid.

Angels of Hell #1 (KickStarter Book) was a really interesting twist. The end of days has come and the Four Horseman actually switch sides and start to battle hell on earth.
