From the Pull List: August 22nd 2018
This weeks books, I’ll review them in the comments after I read them:
- The Punisher #1
- The Life Of Captain Marvel #2 (of 5)
- Amazing Spider-Man #4
- Daredevil #607
- Hunt For Wolverine: Mystery In Madripoor #4 (of 4)
- Old Man Hawkeye #8 (of 12)
- Shadowman #6
- Venom #5
Punisher #1 was a great story! Really liked it and I’m not one usually to like the Punisher. Artwork was pretty good though I feel like the backgrounds are slapped in photos in a lot of the shots.
The Life of Captain Marvel #2 was a decent story. Feels almost like a Television show the way it is done. Not too much going on aside from some nemesis showing up as a backstory that I don’t know if they have anything to do with her past that I don’t know about and her brother waking up at the end. We’ll see how it continues on.
Amazing Spider-Man #4 was pretty fun. It really feels like an invincible comic with how the characters act. I’m not too sure who the voice in the dark is but I’m sure we will find out, and I’m glad there is a countdown to essentially get Spidey and Peter back as one person, as this could get old pretty fast.
Daredevil #607 explains how Mike Murdock is actually alive and real. It’s an interesting concept but so full of holes. I mean as soon as Mike escaped Reader, McGee, and DD he could have erased him. It really doesn’t make any sense.
Hunt For Wolverine: Mystery In Madripoor #4 pretty much sucked. Again the art is so bad you can’t tell which character from another. Especially with the only good thing about this issue with Psylocke getting her old Betsy body back after all these years. I mean the artist really was weak as you couldn’t even tell her british body from the japanese one. Speaking of that the other interesting thing about the second Psylocke also existing on her own as well is very neat.
Old Man Hawkeye #8 is such a fantastic story. In particular Bullseye was just awesome in this. Especially his fight with the terminator… I mean Winter Soldier. Can’t wait to see what happens next issue as they finally come head to head.
Shadowman #6 was pretty good. This book is getting better it feels, and now that I can understand all the past stories that have taken up the last few books are all part of this story it makes sense.
Venom #5 Wings! Okay I like the look, and the fact that they are expanding on Venom even more. The more they distance him from Spider-Man and make him unique the better. I didn’t like the ending It feels too 90’s Liefeld and we all know that garbage forced me to stop reading comics as it was all so bad.
